To Honour…..(Part A) -- Fact about Man--

Research has shown that men are wired visually. When a man is looking at an attractive woman, the image of the women will be lingered and recollected in his imagination, even if the man had only caught a glimpse of women for a few seconds.

This is especially true for a man who dwelled in a pornographic lifestyle. Even after they ceased to pursue this lifestyle, the image will always bounce back at him in years to come. A man who dwells too much in pornography will be likely to picture opposite sex in a filthy manner, either voluntarily of involuntarily. These images normally will just pop-up in his mind out of a sudden. Although he tries to wave it away the images will bounce back to him. So to speak, men often have no control over this (that pop up image will come gradually, the only control that man have is to cease to allows himself to dwell further on it by ignoring it when it coming back). For this reason I always advices my lady friends to stay away from people who are dwelled too much on pornographic materials. This is because of the probability for them to treat you as an object of their imagination is very high.

Shaunti Feldhahn in hers book, for a woman only, has done a poll in this regards.

In total, 87 percent of men say these images pop up in their heads. When you break down the demographics, it is roughly the same across the board --- whether men are old or young, happily married or single, religious or not.

Sensual image that occurs in the mind of man is a normal phenomenon. God has His reason for the way we are wired. Let us consider this as an implanted temptation. ( I would rather not to call this as a temptation but a natural wiring that made us humane). Through this we can exercise our “Free Will” and this make us so different compared to an animal. We can either submit and to be drawn in our own imagination or reject it. We can choose to conform ourselves in either moral or immoral thought.

Although Jesus was tempted in many ways, yet he is without sin. I admit that it is hard for those who are going through this moment, especially for “teen-agers”. It is hard for us to deal with these mental images without crossing a moral boundary, without any lustful thought. But remember as a Christian, we are empowered not to run away from it but to overcome it. We can do this if we honour our relationship with God.
