Worship is His Due and His Gift
Worship is our ultimate purpose in life. We find in the scriptures that we are created to glorify him (Isa 43:6-7, Eph.
What are the chief and the highest end of man? Answer: Man’s chief and highest end is to glorify God, and fully to enjoy him forever.

Worship services in church should be carried out not to call attention to ourselves, but to call attention to God and to call people to think of him (Grudem, 1994). The key is all gifts in singing, music, or leading of the worship shall bring glory to God. Ultimately worship is also for us because we find our ultimate purpose in life which is to glorify him. And in turn God delight in us if we do find our purpose in him.
In everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ
1 Peter 4:11
Summary:
- There is a trend in Church to focus on song which is focuses on repetition over rhythm which pleased our ear and make us feel good.
- Feeling becomes focus instead the content of song which can inspired and edify the church.
- To think of singing as worship is narrowed down the real meaning of worship.
- Worship is submission all of our nature to God.
- We must worship God in spirit and in truth
- Worship is the gift of God to us so we can glorify him and find our ultimate meaning in life.

Wesley, you did a good job in arguing that WORSHIP is not about the SONG the DANCING, etc. It should be an inspiration to all Christians, especially the Catholic Christians who focus on the homilies when they are attending Mass. They commented on how lame do the priests deliver their so-called 'speeches' but most of the times miss the heavenly reality hidden in the veil of the bread and the wine. In fact, Jesus Himself is present in a humble, tasteless bread.
I advise you to visit St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology and take one of the courses (free of charge) offered there (http://www.salvationhistory.com/online/GettingStarted.cfm).
The St. Paul Center was founded by one of the most today's prominent Biblical theologian, Dr. Scott Hahn. Try to take the course on 'the Bible and the Mass' :)
I am profoundly convinced that what you learned there may complete what you started on what you wrote on WORSHIP in a beautiful way :)
